Q. What can your child learn at IDW?
At IDW, your child can learn to discover, critically analyse and solve the assigned tasks / levels. By practising with the manipulative tasks, your child becomes more concentrated and extra careful in achieving the goals. The abilities to do logical reasoning, to handle 3D spaces, and to correspond shapes and colours, are also greatly enhanced in the programme.
Q. What is the difference between IDW and a traditional Maths classroom?
IDW programme emphasises independent and active problem-solving skills (observation, thinking, judgment, execution); whereas a Maths subject deals with numbers, quantities, shapes and spaces. At IDW, your child learns about the general structures and the core of scientific methods. Unlike IDW, your child only learns about specific concepts to solve specific problems in a Maths subject.
Q. Why don't school teachers teach my child?
IDW programme promotes your child's learning ability through inquiry, instead of following a traditional instruction. “To teach without teaching” is the ultimate goal of all IDW instructors.
Q. Will your child have well-developed brain power just by playing with “toys”?
The manipulative tasks used in KMI may look like toys on the surface, but they are well-planned tools for promoting a good learning habit to analyse, think, judge, and execute actively and independently. Such scientific method enables your child solve problems, which is one of the most important factors of brain development.
Q. What is the youngest age for a child to enroll at IDW programme?
According to researches, the critical period of brain power development is from 3 to 10 years of age. Thus, at IDW, children are able to enroll as early as 3 years old.
