What is I Discovery World (IDW)?

Our Vision

To be the world leader in children enlightenment programmes

Our Mission

To develop the new generation to be more competitive in the future global marketplace

Our Values

I Discovery World – “I” stands for individual, intelligence, independence, ideas, innovation, invention, integrity and infinity.

As we pursue our vision of making IDW the world leader in the enlightenment of children, we never lose sight of our founding values.

IDW is an ideal individualised programme in enhancing the new generation with great intelligence and capability to work independently with minimal supervision. A child with a high level of intelligence will be able to generate new and creative ideas.

We believe that leaders in the future require new knowledge and skills to foster innovation and rapid change in the global marketplace. Therefore, children need to be aspired at a very young age to become inventors.

Integrity is our fundamental value. We give emphasis to the worth and integrity of each person engaged in the provision of education, in the home, school and community.

Together, we can assist our next generation to develop infinite potential.

The Thinking behind IDW

Inspiration is what drives one’s motivation to achieve something.

At IDW, our Inspiration lies in the Finnish Way of Education. Through years of research and implementation, the Education system in Finland has taught us an abundance of setting the Right & Proper way of education for your children from an early age.

Here are a few examples of the success of the Finnish way of education:
In the year 2000, when mobile phones evolved from huge rectangular shapes to small, palm-sized phones, one brand stood above them all, the market leader for mobile phones was Nokia. (Nokia is from Finland). Through technological evolution, today, smart phones rule the market and the leader is non-other than Apple Inc., producer of the iPhone.

Though Nokia is still in the market, it has lost its leadership status. However, the Finnish did not go head to head, rather they surveyed the market and developed yet another leader in the market, in the smart phone market to be exact. It is non-other than the most downloaded Application Game on a smart phone called Angry Birds.

Through this simple example, we can already witness the creativity of the Finnish people, and more importantly, how fast they managed to tap into the current trends and still be highly productive, innovative and creative.

Among the Finnish ways are:
Equity First
Less is More
Test Less, Learn More

Differences between a Traditional Classroom and IDW Approach

Traditional Classroom IDW Approach
Standardisation Personalisation
Examination-oriented Life Skills
Technology Pedagogy
Individual Competition Collaboration
Test-based Accountability Trust-based Professionalism

Therefore, we, at IDW, to compliment the effects of Finnish Education System, KMI (Kindergarten Multiple Intelligence) and I Discovery Science programmes will be utilised.

Importance of Brain Development

By the age of 6, 70% of the brain is developed; whilst 90% of the brain is developed by the age of 10. With proper stimulus, the neuron will grow rapidly to make learning of all kinds much easier in the future.

Not everyone will become the greatest scientist or artist. However, through stimulating the children’s brain, children will be able to develop problem-solving skills (knowledge, analysing, thinking, differentiating, executing) and good self-learning habits in a faster pace.

By bringing out the innate intelligence of each child, we aim to make the new generation to be more competitive in the future global marketplace.
